Meet the Team and Mission
A great part of inspiration behind Julie's inception of Savory Snackables is her daughter, Kara, a 23 year old beautiful young lady with intellectual disabilities. Kara's favorite part about Savory Snackables is helping to deliver the goodies! Kara will always live with Julie and part of Savory Snackables is giving Kara the ability to learn new skills while accessing the community in a meaningful way!
We are overly excited to be able to bring this opportunity
to other adults with intellectual disabilities this year!!

Kara
Kara is a very loving and gentle young lady who enjoys the "little things" in life! She finds pleasures in visual shapes, especially architecture. She thoroughly enjoys the feeling and sound of wind in her hands and hair. Her favorite drink is chocolate milk and she loves cheese more than life itself! So, you can easily see how charcuterie and delivering cheeses are just second nature. She really enjoys putting the labels on packaging and her independence is really blossoming!
Kara has a rare condition called PCDH19. PCDH19 is an umbrella for global delays, autism, sensory sensitivities, significant cognitive delays and epilepsy. She is also non-verbal. Regardless of the labels - she is a bright shining star who impacts everyone she meets!

Julie & Kara
Julie has a well-versed creative background in building community through large events with over 750 guests, such as galas and fundraisers. She has been in promotional advertising, graphic design and advocacy for over 20 years. Julie currently sits on the board of a non-profit and continues to assist in the disability community.
Julie's personal hobbies have always been in the creative realm and creating visually appealing delights has been a longtime passion! She thrives on creating a warm and inviting space for people to gather while enjoying the taste and visual sensations in the artistry of food and charcuterie!

Creating Savory Snackables was also incepted to bring opportunity for Kara! It is providing her the capability to thrive in the space she is most comfortable in (home) as she cannot attend in the community like a neurotypical peer may be able to. Julie hopes that this new found charcuterie adventure will help Kara build skills that will help to make her feel fulfilled and a productive person in society.
Julie and Kara would love to share their talents with you by creating a comforting and invigorating food space for you to enjoy with family and friends through different types of charcuterie!
